The Project
For a major Japanese Securities Trust Company, BankerTek was asked to project manage a SWIFT system replacement and upgrade from SWIFT Alliance Access to SWIFT Alliance Entry to facilitate the straight through processing (STP) of payments and settlement of Domestic and International Fixed Income and Equity instructions originating from Tokyo and settling at DTCC and/or Euroclear and for future connectivity of other in-house applications with SWIFTNet (MT) and MX-based SWIFT Solutions.
The Client
The trust company selected BankerTek to improve the processing efficiency by upgrading and implementing a SWIFT interface to the trust system in order to provide a seamless integration to the respective Fixed Income and Equity processing departments utilizing BIC code extensions to route the SWIFT messages.
Our Work
BankerTek provided project management and subject matter expertise to coordinate initial project planning and SWIFT vendor management and subsequent testing required to realize the STP initiatives. Ultimately, SWIFT messaging became the standard for all domestic and international messaging and resulted in the conversion of SWIFT treasury fixed income settlement instructions into machine readable protocol files facilitating the upload into "TI Infostation" a proprietary Cash Management system.

In addition, ATOM is expected to provide accurate reporting of general ledger activity as provided by system settings. Other anticipated benefits include automated processing of transactions with banks and internal client systems using several data interfaces.

The Project
The merger and consolidation of three of the largest Japanese banks and subsequent system migration and consolidation will create a global commercial bank with assets in excess of US $1.25 trillion, making them one of the world's largest commercial bank. The scope of this project is to provide ongoing support services in all phases of the integration, migration and post conversion environment including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing, data and transaction migration, user training, change management and contingency planning the Treasury Operations.

BankerTek was asked to project manage specific aspects of the Treasury Operations overall program to include maintaining the internal Issue Tracking System (ITS) and the development of management reports to monitor the performance of the combined team and their progress in resolving testing discrepancies. Preparation and maintenance of MS Project plans to ensure the overall timely delivery of project milestones. Provide review and analysis of current operations workflows and support systems, and identify the workflows and systems that will be utilized following the merger. Interface with users and systems management to obtain consensus on workflow modifications consistent with support system functions.
