Commercial Lending System Re-engineering for a Top 5 US Commercial Lending Bank

The Project

A top five US bank requested BankerTek's assistance to review and streamline the data architecture, recommend areas for improvement conforming to industry best practices, develop a global production support model and implement a Commercial Lending strategy for automated testing, disaster recovery planning and a system maintenance / upgrade process.

The Client

A joint team of Commercial Lending professionals developed a strategy and subsequent blueprint for achieving the target efficiency protocols in the 'to be' environment. A conceptual data model was developed to serve as the foundation for moving forward with a prototype. BankerTek's senior technology architect reviewed the current and future state environment and conducted a gap analysis resulting in recommendations and a solution sanctioned by the client. Utilizing best practices, a roadmap was created and a project plan was developed to execute the various technical streamlining and project upgrades.

Our Work

The roadmap and conceptual data model provided a solution to allow the bank to change its production support model and workflows; implement a disaster recovery program enabling a regional data center recovery of the Commercial Lending system that occurred as a result of a data center outage in October of 2007 with no Commercial Lending downtime.

Commercial Lending System Implementation for a Major Global Foreign Bank

The Project

The New York branch of a French bank selected BankerTek resources to assist with the Commercial Lending system implementation. The bank's goal was to consolidate all loans on the Commercial Lending system globally and sunset all legacy loan systems and sub-systems. The scope of the global implementation included using the NYC implementation as a model to relocate and headquarter loan operations in Paris and implement and rollout the Commercial Lending system to Europe and Asia.

The Client

The BankerTek team comprised Business Analyst, Developer, Project Manager and Technical Specialist to work with the key client sponsors and stakeholders to develop the automated conversion plan and strategy. Under the aegis of the client project team, BankerTek assisted in the conversion functional specifications and data mapping, developed the technical conversion functional specifications and conversion programs, managed the cleansing and creation of critical loan data being migrated to the Commercial Lending system, and managed the overall automated conversion process.

Our Work

The early involvement of the BankerTek team in project planning, developing interfaces, testing, benchmarking, and documentation facilitated the subsequent blueprint for the implementation and migration in Europe and Asia. The Commercial Lending implementation was completed in 12 months with all the US loans in the system. The success of the NYC implementation project, enabled the Europe implementation to start ahead of schedule. The overall success of the Commercial Lending implementation project received accolades in every bank town hall" meeting as an example how well a global implementation can be executed.

Commercial Lending System Upgrade and Portfolio Migration for a Top 5 US Commercial Lending Bank

The Project

A top five US bank requested BankerTek's assistance to upgrade their Commercial Lending Production system to a later service pack release to enable the delayed compensation and trade day accounting functionalities. As part of the upgrade effort, the client wanted the ability to migrate loan deals from their legacy trading portfolios onto the new version of Commercial Lending.

The Client

The BankerTek team comprised a Business Analyst, and Technical Specialist to work with the key client sponsors and stakeholders to develop the roadmap conversion plan and strategy. BankerTek performed an analysis of the current loan deals in the client’s legacy systems prior to migrating the existing loan deals onto the newly implemented Commercial Lending platform. BankerTek was also asked to customize a training program to best meet the client's needs and then transfer the knowledge back by explaining the new functionalities in the newly implemented Commercial Lending service pack that enabled the users to perform their day-to-day operations

Our Work

The Commercial Lending service pack upgrade enabled the delayed compensation and trade day accounting functionalities and was implemented simultaneously with Commercial Lending training and migration to efficiently optimize the client's timeframe, resulting in an ahead of schedule completion.
